Judges for this years Niagara Music Awards have just been announced. All judges will meet at Boston Pizza at 934 Niagara St in Welland on Sunday May 30th to review each and every submission entered into the 3rd annual Niagara Music Awards. All musicians are encouraged to come out and meet the judges, watch the submissions on the big screen and network with others in the industry. Submissions start at noon and will run until approx 8pm. Tom Treumuth Treumuth has been involved in A&R as a talent scout signing Canadian acts to the American office of RCA/BMG, record company ownership ( Hypnotic Records), recording studio ownership, marketing, promotion, advertising, musicianship and songwriting, (signed as a writer to RCA/BMG), artist management including working with Gene Simmons for 2 years , manufacturing, concert promotion and booking, retail distribution, record production ( 10 Gold and Platinum albums), and domestic/international licensing of music CD’s and DVD’s. Don Quarles As a songwriter and event producer of over 20 years, Quarles is passionate about helping Canadian songwriters. He was a regional workshop coordinator for the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) for over 7 years and has helped to bring songwriting into Canadian schools with the founders of a program called “SASS” (the School Alliance of Student Songwriters). He continues to write and perform, mostly with his family band 'The Family Quarles." Quarles sits on the National Advisory Board of FACTOR, the advisory committee of "transmission" 2009 and is the Executive Director of the Songwriters Association of Canada.
Brian Blain Brian Blain juggles his career as Managing Editor for the Toronto Blues Society, Toronto Jazz Festival, and Toronto Musicians Association with a busy performing schedule as a Northern Blues recording artist and he especially enjoys discovering new talent through his informal Blues Campfire song-swap sessions at OCFF, Blues Summit and Folk Alliance conferences and every Tuesday night at a popular Toronto blues club. He has served on judging panels for the JUNO awards, Indie Awards, TBS Talent Search and the TTC Subway Musician Auditions.
Mark Watson Mark Watson runs a Toronto based management company - Watson Entertainment. The company has received several industry awards and has earned 2 gold records since its inception in 1998. They've been the driving force behind countless international tours, sales, media, and sync licensing to major films, TV shows, and commercials. Kevin Kennedy Kevin Kennedy is the live-guitarist for Juno-nominated Neverending White Lights. He has played shows all across Canada and has shared the stage with artists such as: Raine Maida, Dallas Green, Jimmy Gnecco, Marco Defilice, Daniel Greaves, Todd Kurns, and Rob Dickinson among others. Kennedy is proudly endorsed by Yamaha Music Canada.
