Erikson Music To Distribute Nord Keyboards

Tomas Enochsson, International Sales Manager for Nord Keyboards and Clavia DMI ABNord has announced that Erikson Music is the new Canadian distribution partner for Nord Keyboards. “I believe Erikson Music needs no further introduction, as the company is well known to everybody in the Canadian and global music industry for years of serious and professional distribution,” says Enochsson.

Erikson Music Vice President, Michael Golden, had this to say of the appointment: "We are very pleased to add Nord products to the catalogue at Erikson music. Pro Audio Legend Keith Barr Passed Away August 24th

Pro audio legend Keith Barr--founder of Alesis and numerous other companies--died on August 24 at the age of 61, felled by an apparent heart attack in his Vancouver, WA home.

Characterized by those who knew him as more an engineer and inventor than a businessman, Barr nonetheless founded a number of companies over his career, starting with guitar effect pedal manufacturer MXR Innovations in 1973.

KoSA Announces The 2010 Full Scholarship Winners

The fifteenth edition of the KoSA International Percussion Workshops and Festivals was held July 27 to August 1st at Castleton State College in Castleton, Vermont. For the sixth consecutive year, KoSA awarded full scholarships to attend their annual event. The prize package included full tuition, as well as room and board. Three full-time scholarships were awarded to: Arianna Fanning (USA), Scott Davidson (USA), and Erik N. Peterson (Canada). The KoSA Scholarships were courtesy of the following companies: Evans, Mapex and Zildjian.

Summer NAMM Closes With Optimism For The Future

NAMM has announced the final registration and exhibitor numbers for 2010 Summer NAMM. At show close, NAMM reported a four percent decrease in registration from last year�s event, with 12,463 total registrants for the three-day event. Exhibitor numbers were slightly up at the Nashville Convention Center during this year of economic recovery, with 383 companies displaying and demonstrating products.
