Registration is now open for the third annual IMSTA FESTA Toronto show, which is heading back to Ryerson University on Saturday Oct. 15, 2016. As well, organizers have annoucned that Canadian hip-hop producer Boi-1da’s keynote address and Q&A will headline the educational program. Presented by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA), the IMSTA FESTA events are held annually in Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles and showcase the latest music-making and production technologies as well as educational seminars and keynotes speeches and Q&As.
KMC Music has announced the appointment of industry veteran Terri Shaw to the position of director of sales for the KMC Division, JAM Industries LTD, with primary responsibility for supporting and expanding sales programs with key national accounts that include Amazon, Guitar Center, and Musician’s Friend, among others, according to KMC Music Vice President of Sales James Tsaptsinos, to whom she reports.
“Terri is an experienced sales professional who brings more than 20 years of industry experience to her new position at KMC Music,” Tsaptsinos says. “She will play a major role in helping us to further develop and expand our strategic programs and day-to-day operations with key national accounts. Terri brings a proven track record of success to KMC that is certain to benefit all of our retail partners.”
Mira Wölfel has assumed responsibility for the new Sales & Planning Department of Musikmesse and Prolight + Sound. She is now responsible for the sales activities, customer support, and planning and organisation of the two fairs with particular emphasis given to opening up new markets and customer segments. In this position, Wölfel reports to Michael Biwer, Group Show Director of the ‘Entertainment, Media & Creative Industries’ Business Unit.
Wölfel studied International Relations at Saint Joseph University in Beirut and has been with the Messe Frankfurt Group since 2005. She initially worked in the Visitor Services Department before moving to sales in 2011. As sales manager in the ‘Consumer Goods’ Business Unit, she was responsible for the consumer-goods fair, Ambiente, and the related Tendence trade fair. In July 2015, she moved to the Prolight + Sound Sales Team where, most recently, she was in charge of the audio section.

This free IMSTA FESTA event is open to anyone interested in the art of music making; professional and semi-professional musicians, songwriters, music producers, and audio engineers, as well as music students and educators. The day-long event will feature panels, workshops and master classes, demonstrations and more. Organizers say their aim is to host industry experts in an environment where music-makers can network, interact, and learn with them face-to-face.
