The Retail Print Music Dealers Association (RPMDA) has open registration for its 2017 convention. The 2017 RPMDA Convention will be held from April 26-29 at the Hyatt Regency Peachtree in Atlanta, GA. Early bird registration rates are available through February 3. The association is also continuing a first time convention rate for anyone who’s company is a member but who has not ever attended an RPMDA convention.
Yorkville Sound is now the exclusive Canadian distributor for the Ernie Ball strings and accessories catalog. Founded in California in 1962, Ernie Ball’s electric guitar strings artist roster boasts names like Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Slash, Metallica, and John Mayer. In addition to its string lines, the current Ernie Ball catalog also includes guitar straps, tuners, slides, and a pedal line.

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Ontario-based Empress Effects has released the limited edition 10th Anniversary Tremolo pedal and is combing the release with a charity initiative. Only 250 of the pedals are made, each with its serial number engraved on the front of the pedal.
For every 10th anniversary tremolo sold, Empress will donate $10 to charity. Being animal lovers, they’re supporting Big Sky Ranch, Ottawa’s only no-kill animal shelter.
Previously called the Canadian DJ Show, it is now being branded as the CDJ Show, as show co-founder Ryan Schroeyens told CMT following this year’s event that “we’re going more centred towards CDJ Show and that will continue to evolve as we continue to see more music industry—record labels, producers, and songwriters – become involved in the conference.”
MDA’s Show & Tell Day is a one-day, private table-top show of supplier member companies displaying exclusively for MDA distributor-buyer members. It’ll be held in a collaborative, focused environment in the Anaheim Hilton’s California D ballroom, next door to the Anaheim Convention Center and right in the middle of all the 2017 NAMM Show happenings. There are also opportunities for social interaction throughout the day and during a business-casual closing reception.
GerrAudio has announced the addition of Dany Legendre and Michael Belluz to its team of technical sales support specialists in Quebec and Ontario.
Legendre has toured internationally mixing a wide variety of concerts, special events, and broadcasts, most recently as Roch Voisine’s head of audio. He is based in Montreal and will be primarily looking after the Quebec market.
