3rd Annual March for Music Therapy Set For March 20th

11 MarchMarch is National Music Therapy Awareness Month.  To celebrate, the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund (CMTTF), in partnership with The Canadian Association for Music Therapy (CAMT), will host the 3rd Annual March for Music Therapy in communities across Canada on March 20, 2016.

The March for Music Therapy is a grassroots, family and community-focused national event. The March happens on Sunday March 20, 2016, across Canada in four major cities – Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montréal. Participants march up to 5 km to raise funds and awareness for music therapy. All Marches end with a fun community event in celebration of the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund’s efforts to provide music therapy services to underserved populations. Musikmesse Announces New Concept & Festival For 2016

Organizers of the 2016 Musikmesse trade fair, which will be held April 7-10 in Frankfurt, Germany, are introducing new offers for retailers and distributors with the goal of strengthening the trade fair’s position as a business platform. They’ve also introduced a new thematic approach to the fair in hopes of enticing more visitor groups.


Early-Bird Registration Open for 2016 RPMDA Convention

The convention hotel is the historic Chase Park Plaza where the rooms have been recently updated. In addition, the hotel also boasts a movie theatre, pool and plenty of places to relax and network with industry peers, according to the organization.

The Unison Holiday Schmoozefest is a chance to celebrate the season with notable Canadian music professionals and artists at Toronto’s chic Spice Route Bistro+Bar. No potluck offering or secret santa gift required! Your $25 ticket goes to support Unison’s programs for members of the music community in their times of crisis. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 draw, and special guest DJs.


Free Registration for IMSTA FESTA Toronto is Open

SMALL-RK-WG-full-roomThe second annual IMSTA FESTA Toronto will head next Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Ryerson University and free registration is open.  Presented by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA), the IMSTA FESTA event are held annually in Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles and showcase the latest music-making and production technologies as well as educational seminars and keynotes speeches and Q&As.

This year’s event will feature a keynote presentation by legendary producers and engineer Jimmy Douglas (Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Al Green). Additionally, Canadian Musician Assistant Editor Michael Raine will be presenting a seminar on “Getting Your Message to the Media.” Other presentation and seminar topics will be “Composing for Visual Media,” “Dance Music Master Class,” and a “Cooking Beats” workshop.
