Organizers of the 2016 Musikmesse trade fair, which will be held April 7-10 in Frankfurt, Germany, are introducing new offers for retailers and distributors with the goal of strengthening the trade fair’s position as a business platform. They’ve also introduced a new thematic approach to the fair in hopes of enticing more visitor groups.
The second annual IMSTA FESTA Toronto will head next Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at Ryerson University and free registration is open. Presented by the International Music Software Trade Association (IMSTA), the IMSTA FESTA event are held annually in Toronto, Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles and showcase the latest music-making and production technologies as well as educational seminars and keynotes speeches and Q&As.
This year’s event will feature a keynote presentation by legendary producers and engineer Jimmy Douglas (Rolling Stones, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Al Green). Additionally, Canadian Musician Assistant Editor Michael Raine will be presenting a seminar on “Getting Your Message to the Media.” Other presentation and seminar topics will be “Composing for Visual Media,” “Dance Music Master Class,” and a “Cooking Beats” workshop.
The global music products industry can expect to see thousands of business opportunities and expanding member benefits on arrival to Anaheim for the 2016 NAMM Show. The more than 96,000 people expected to attend from Jan. 21 to 24 will have the chance to experience the latest in music instruments and products, while learning from fellow industry leaders about the best music-business practices. On Sept. 1st and 2nd, AMX Canada and Techni+Contact we will be launching the second leg of their cross-Canada product conferences near Montreal to showcase all their commercial lines.
These events will entail an intense half-day of workshops from manufacturers, table top presentations, and demos. Snacks, refreshments, and lunch will be provided as well as door prizes and giveaways.

Exhibit booking are up over 10 per cent from last for Summer NAMM 2015, which will be held July 9-11 at Nashville’s Music City Center. Organizors say this year’s show will be characterized by expanded professional development offerings, a surge of first-time exhibitors, and an amplified presence from pro audio brands.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, PRS Guitars is hosting a free two-day event this June featuring a free concert at Rams Head Live in Baltimore and an open house at PRS Guitars’ manufacturing facility in Stevensville, MD.
The free concert is on Friday, June 5th at the Rams Head Live in Baltimore, MD. Attendees to this all-ages concert will be treated to performances by Col. Bruce Hampton & The Aquarium Unit featuring Jimmy Herring and the Paul Reed Smith Band with Dennis Chambers on drums and Rhonda Smith on bass. A third act will be announced closer to the date.
