Michael Kelly Guitars Brand Sold to Original Company Founder

MK-1960s-SeriesThe original founder of Michael Kelly Guitars has acquired the brand from Hanser Music Group. The Florida-based group that is taking over Michael Kelly Guitars is led by the company’s original founder, Tracy Hoeft. Hanser Music Group purchased Michael Kelly in 2004 and has grown the brand as one of its many exclusive brands.

Michael Kelly Guitars was founded in 1999 with a focus on creating instruments that were unique in appearance and sonic performance. The brand quickly became known for its visually unique instruments and gained a strong market share in specialty areas including f-style mandolins and acoustic basses. Under the Hanser Music Group management, the selection increased.


New Canadian Sales & Service Team Announced for B&J Music

Following its purchase of B&J Music in February, Jam Industries has announced a new sales and service team for B&J. Headed by industry veteran David McAllister as vice president of B&J Music and operating from the facility in Baie D’Urfe, QC, the new team will take over on April 1, 2015.

Jam Industries recently acquired the trade names and assets of KMC Music, and B&J Music.  B&J Music, a subsidiary of KMC will report to Mark Terry of KMC and Jeff Carman of Jam Industries. The newly appointed Vice President to operate B&J Music is David McAllister.

Jam Industries has announced the asset purchase of the wholesale distribution business, KMC Music, B&J Music, and selected trade marks from Fender Musical Instrument Corp.

For almost 50 years, KMC Music has been a staple of distribution within the musical instrument industry. During that time, they have distributed a large number of important musical brands and accessories to stores across the U.S. and Canada.


NAMM Elects Eight New Board Members

The NAMM board provides leadership, counsel and direction to NAMM, the NAMM Foundation, and the global music products industry.

KHS America Purchases Hohner Inc. USA

KHS America, Inc. has announced plans to acquire Hohner Inc. from Matth. Hohner GmbH in Trossingen, Germany. Hohner Inc. is the exclusive North American provider of Hohner branded harmonicas, accordians, melodicas, guitars, and bluegrass instruments; SONOR drums and orff Instruments, Lanikai and Kohala ukuleles, H. Jimenez Guitars, Hohner Airboard, as well as Hohner Kids and Greentones children’s instrument brands. Transfer of ownership took place Jan. 12, 2015.
