TASCAM has named Joe Stopka to the position of director of business development. In his new position, Stopka will be responsible for pursuing and developing new business opportunities for the Tascam brand in both live and studio music production, as well as recorded sound for film and video.

Beginning his career as a commercial and industrial music studio guitarist, composer, and producer, Stopka transitioned to sales and  marketing of MI and pro audio technologies with a U.S. AV integration and pro audio rep firm and distributor. He brings extensive expertise to his new position, based on many years of working with brands including Sony Professional, MIPRO, Electro-Voice, Eventide, and others.

NWC Hires Attila Hajzer as Technology Support Coordinator

NWC publishes Professional Sound, Canadian Musician, Canadian Music Trade and Professional Lighting & Production magazines.

Hajzer is a graduate of Niagara College in general arts and Science and new media web design. He is an accomplished website designer and an expert in computer software and hardware. He is also musician, playing keyboards and guitar, and is also an avid songwriter.

Former TC Electronic VP of Marketing Takes Lead at LunaStone Guitar Pedals

After 17 years with TC Electronic/TC Group, former VP of Marketing Allan Strand now invests in and takes on the role of CEO at the growing Danish guitar pedal brand LunaStone. Guitarist and engineer Steen Grøntved founded LunaStone Guitar Pedals in 2012 but quickly realized it was necessary to expand the team and that it was key to find someone experienced who could take the lead on a strategic level as well as operationally.

“I’ve known Allan Strand personally for quite some time and have always found that we shared a lot of common values and ideas,” says Grøntved. “Therefore, I am very excited that Allan believes so much in LunaStone that he not only accepted to come on board, but also decided to invest in the company and become a co-owner. Obviously, it gives me great confidence that the head of the department that marketed TC Electronic products like PolyTune, TonePrint and Ditto Looper is now a significant part of LunaStone.”

Fishman has appointed Tom Ostrander as vice president of global retail sales and Gary Lenaire as director of new product marketing and sales to maximize the company’s sales effort.

Ostrander brings a diverse sales background to Fishman and has spent the last eight years in telecommunications industry channel sales positions, most recently as president of sales for the Americas at Snom Inc., a German-based company where he was responsible for all operations of the remote sales office, sales, marketing, and support.

Ryan Hamilton Joins Yamaha Canada Music as Marketing Manager for Drums & Paiste Cymbals

Yamaha Canada Music has announced that Ryan Hamilton has been hired as its new product marketing manager for drums and Paiste products. He fills the role vacated by Sean Browne, who was promoted to the position of international drum product marketing manager for Yamaha Corporation in December 2015.

Hamilton joins Yamaha with a background in business marketing and a history of drum retail experience having worked as general manager of Just Drums in Toronto. He also spent time working at Warner Music Canada.

The new team is Rob Gardner and Tom Jarvie (sharing the Prairie Regions), Paul Gardner (Ontario), Claude Lavallee (Quebec Region), and Bob Gaudreau (Maritimes Region).
