Music Heals Announces Event in Support of Music Therapy Awareness Month

Thursday, March 2nd, 2017

03 StrikeAChordMarch is Music Therapy Awareness Month and Music Heals is offering events and opportunities in every province across Canada this month with a goal of raising awareness for music therapy.

The main event is this Saturday, March 4th, with A Night Out For Music Heals. Over 80 bars, clubs and pubs in 30 cities across Canada are donating $1 per cover charge (or making a flat donation of $1 per patron, for those that don’t charge cover) to Music Heals for one night. You can support music therapy programs in your province simply by going out on Saturday March 4th. Check the full list of participating establishments at www.musicheals.ca/nightout.

Long & McQuade is collecting iPods in all 74 stores across Canada for the iPod Pharmacy. Stop by any Long & McQuade store and drop off your good-as-new iPod, and it will be given to music therapists in the province in which it is donated as part of the Music Heals iPod Pharmacy.

Skullcandy is donating 10% of all sales of headphones, speakers or accessories at www.Skullcandy.ca this month to Music Heals.

Tempo Renovo dry gin is donating $1 per bottle sold to Music Heals. G&W Distillery has donated $1 per bottle of every Tempo gin sold in BC to Music Heals for the last year, but now it’s available in Alberta. Proceeds from each sale will be directed to music therapy programs in the province in which it is sold.
