Hal Leonard Corporation has announced three new agreements relating to its distribution portfolio for North America. First, Hal Leonard and Hamilton Stands have agreed to a new distribution arrangement for the U.S. and Canada. As well, Hal Leonard has reached an agreement with the Nashville-based Barbershop Harmony Society to expand the scope of products in its global distribution deal. Lastly, Hal Leonard has expanded is distribution of Propellerhead Software products to now include Canada.
In effect since the 2014 Summer NAMM Show, Hal Leonard will be distributing the entire portfolio of Hamilton Stands and accessories. “We’re thrilled to have Hal Leonard as a partner. A marriage between the leader in print music and an iconic music stand manufacturer is practically poetic,” comments Bob Jespersen, director of marketing and sales for Hamilton.
Regarding the expanded distribution deal with the Barbershop Harmony Society, since 2007 Hal Leonard has used the Society’s arrangements in its Close Harmony for Men choral series and in its Sing in the Barbershop Quartet series. The company will continue to develop titles in these two series, and will now also distribute the Society’s own barbershop arrangements worldwide. More than 100 arrangements will be added to the Hal Leonard catalog.
Lastly, Hal Leonard has been selling Propellerhead Software products to the MI trade in the U.S. since 2011, and became an exclusive distributor last August. Because of this, the companies are expanding their distribution deal to now encompass Canada. Propellerhead is a Swedish company that makes music creation and production software products, including Reason and ReCycle. Hal Leonard Senior VP of Sales, Doug Lady, comments, “Reason and ReCycle are the top choice of educators for their simplicity, and beloved by pros for all of their cutting-edge features and robust functionality. We are excited to now offer music retailers throughout Canada these outstanding recording tools.”
