Trade Regrets: Warren Price, 1941-2012

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012

On April 20, 2012, Warren Price, Founder and Owner of the Mother’s Music chain of music stores, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family at the age of 70 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Price leaves behind his immediate family, Lloy, his daughter Laurie, daughter Ginger and her husband Al, and four grandchildren Brittini, Olivia, Jason, and Cole.

Warren was born in Edmonton and as a young man joined his father in the music business, eventually opening The Mother Mother’s in Edmonton followed by openings sister stores in Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, and Vancouver.

In 2007 Warren was recognized by his peers for Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Service to the Canadian Music Industry for his nearly 50 years of developing the retail and sound business in Western Canada.

His business was his passion and music was his companion. Those who knew Warren will always remember his great decency, enjoyable humour, and positive outlook on life, even to the very end.

He could certainly entertain and tell a story like no other and loved to surround himself with family and friends.

A memorial service and celebration of life will take place Friday, April 27, 2:00pm at the Capilano Golf and Country Club, 420 Southborough Drive, West Vancouver, BC. In Lieu of flowers, donations to North Shore Hospice Society in Warren’s memory would be appreciated.
