Ayotte Summer NAMM

Congratulations to Ray, JD, and our friends at Ayotte Drums for being named a Company To Watch at Summer NAMM 2014 in Nashville. Great to see a Canadian manufacturer getting some attention they deserve.

“We’ve been getting a lot of attention through social media in the last two years, and it’s great to see more excitement about Ayotte from the industry,” comments JD Beaudoin, president and CEO of Ayotte Drums. “We’ve proven we would do what was needed to preserve the prestige of our brand and that includes making no compromise on the sound and quality of our product. Winning the Company to Watch prize at Summer NAMM is an affirmation that we are able to adapt to the new challenges dealers have to face and to what the consumer is looking for. Ayotte is undoubtedly back!”

On a related note, Beaudoin was interviewed for our story “The Domestic Edge?” about boutique Canadian manufacturers in our June/July 2014 issue, which you can check out right here.

Tuesday, March 25th, 2014

beaches-jazz-festivalOrganizers and supporters of Toronto’s Beaches International Jazz Festival  (BIJF) are asking music fans to sign a petition calling on Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne and the provincial government to restore funding for the public festival.

Organizers are asking supporters to go to THIS LINK to write a letter to Premier Wynne asking for her to intervene and restore the festival’s funding.

The following letter is from the Beaches International Jazz Festival:

For more than 25 years, the Beaches International Jazz Festival (BIJF) has been a Toronto tradition. Each year, it welcomes more than 500,000 people free of charge to experience world-class jazz performances right in the heart of the Beaches community. Regularly ranked amongst the top 10 outdoor festivals in the world, the BIJF contributes more than $65 million dollars of revenue to the City, and specifically $30 million of that money right into the Beaches/East York community from which it has grown.

Roland Demo

Getting an up-close look at the new FA-06

There’s a buzz in the air in Anaheim leading into the 2014 NAMM Show, and come Thursday morning, that there will be plenty of fast guitar leads, trumpet blowing, and bass drum thuds added to that buzz as the convention centre opens its doors to swallow up members of the international music products industry.

CMT is down at the show and will be bringing you regular updates on what’s happening and what people are talking about. If you’ve got any new products you’ve heard about on the show floor and would like some inside info, definitely be in touch!

Leading in to Thursdays grand opening, Wednesday hosted its share of great events and exciting announcements. Fresh off the plane, I headed to the third floor of the convention centre for Roland’s press conference, where the company premiered a slew of innovations that are sure to have people talking.
