Thank You for Another Great CMT NAMM Canadian Reception!

All of us at Canadian Music Trade would like to send out a big thank you to everyone who attended and all the sponsors of our 2015 NAMM Canadian Reception. The event was a huge success!

It was our best attended NAMM Reception ever, and the band, Red Zeppelin featuring guest drummer Pat Stewart, were fantastic and a big hit with everyone.

At NAMM Show, President’s Committee on the Arts & Humanities to Unveil Student Achievement Research

On Thursday, during the opening day of the 2015 NAMM Show, the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities (PCAH), the NAMM Foundation, and several top musicians will jointly unveil research on student achievement within PCAH’s groundbreaking Turnaround Arts program. This will take place from  on 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. (PST). The Turnaround Arts initiative is a PCAH program, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Education and the White House Domestic Policy Council, to help turn around low-performing schools, narrow the achievement gap, and increase student engagement through the arts.

NAMM Announces 15 Products Going Into TECnology Hall of Fame

The Electrovoice RE20, one of the 2015 inductees into the TECnology Hall of Fame.

The NAMM Foundation has announced 10 historic musical and sound inventions ranging from 1947 through 2000 will be inducted to its 10th annual TECnology Hall of Fame on Saturday, Jan. 24 at the NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA.The awards will be presented by the NAMM MUSEUM of Making Music and hosted by veteran pro-audio journalist George Petersen.

“The inductees for the NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame cover an exceedingly wide range of breakthrough inventions that date back 135 years, to the very roots of audio reproduction,” says George Petersen, NAMM TECnology Hall of Fame chairman. “Interestingly, most of the products selected for this year are still in active use and are even considered classics, which says a lot about the lasting power of these innovations.”

NAMM Members Bring Music Instruments & Lessons to Anaheim School

NAMM in DCNAMM members are bringing music to Anaheim’s John Marshall Elementary School with a day of service on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 8 a.m. to noon. The effort celebrates the Anaheim City School District’s (ACSD) re-introduction of music education programs. Assisted by the NAMM Foundation and Metro Nashville Public School’s “Music Makes Us,” ACSD re-initiated its music education program with an orchestra program in 2013. The district added three full-time music teachers in 2014 – the first music teachers in the district in 20 years. During the day of service, the NAMM Foundation will donate $5,000 and 12 guitars to bolster the district’s budding music programs.
