Saying Goodbye To A Great ShowSunday, January 26th, 2014
Sunday morning is here, and it’s feeling expectedly bittersweet. The halls aren’t nearly as full as they’ve been since Thursday, and the decibel level of the various halls is more relaxed, both of which I appreciate. It’ll be great to finally have a chance to visit our fellow Canadian exhibitors and maybe play around on an instrument or two…
Last night was a great one, starting off with Yamaha Canada Music’s Dealer Reception at the Marriott. A day before saying goodbye to NAMM 2014, we said goodbye to Yamaha Canada’s Rob Barg, who last week announced the end of his stint at Yamaha – a stint that dates back to 1971. In a video interview with CMT that we’ll get live post-show, Rob told us he’s looking forward to touring North America with his wife in their newly-purchased motorhome. His speech was extremely heartfelt and inspiring, and the room was clearly appreciative of his work and sad to see him go. We wish Rob all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for a great partnership over the years.
I had the pleasure of joining Dave Dysart of HHB Canada at a beautiful dinner at Il Garage with a group of his colleagues and clients, which was an absolute blast. I couldn’t have asked for better company, or a better meal. Cheers.
That about does it for NAMM 2014. Expect some video updates in the coming days and, if you were down at the show, let us know what you thought. If you weren’t, definitely consider making the trip next year. It’s an great opportunity to network, learn, and have a great time.
